AFRiTEACH Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)

Overview

Empowering Educators. Transforming Africa.

AFRiTEACH Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) foster a vibrant and sustainable culture of peer-to-peer learning and collaboration among African educators and school leaders. By building both localized and cross-regional networks, we aim to raise education standards across Africa and drive meaningful school improvement.

Our Objectives

Create safe, structured spaces where educators can share challenges, solutions, and best practices.

Promote ongoing professional growth that extends beyond one-off training or certifications.

Strengthen school leadership and improvement efforts through collective problem-solving and shared learning.

Connect educators across regions, languages, and cultures to build Pan-African solidarity in education.

Scaling Across Africa

To ensure sustainable growth and localized impact, we focus on

Regional Hubs

Establish AFRiTEACH regional hubs (e.g., West, East, Southern, and North Africa) to coordinate local CoPs and build contextually relevant networks

Facilitator Training

Train and certify local CoP facilitators as “AFRiTEACH CoP Champions” to ensure sustainability and local ownership.

Blended Approach

Adopt hybrid formats—virtual communities supported by periodic face-to-face workshops and annual gatherings.

Leverage Technology

Deploy AFRiTEACH’s online community platform and resource repository to connect schools across regions, distances, and languages.

Partnerships

Collaborate with Ministries of Education, private sector partners, and NGOs to promote CoPs and integrate them into broader school improvement initiatives.
